Position Overview

TLS Security Management is seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused On-Call Security Officers to support government, commercial, residential, and special event assignments throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.

This position is ideal for officers seeking flexible scheduling opportunities while working in a fast-paced professional security environment. Officers must maintain a high level of professionalism, situational awareness, and operational readiness at all times.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors
• Monitor assigned posts and patrol designated areas
• Control access points and verify identification credentials
• Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, or policy violations
• Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and incident reports accurately and professionally
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, disturbances, and critical incidents
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining firm security standards
• Follow all post orders, operational procedures, and company policies
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards at all times
• Support coverage for call-outs, special assignments, and emergency staffing needs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active Security Guard License or applicable state certification preferred
• DC Special Police Officer (SPO) Commission preferred for applicable assignments
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to work days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required
• Professional demeanor with strong situational awareness
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience

• Government security experience
• Residential or concierge security experience
• Event security or crowd management experience
• Access control and visitor management
• Patrol operations
• Incident response and report writing
